FAMILY

I live in Brunswick Maine with my wife Chake and have two grown sons, Hunter and Skyler. Chake is an artist as well and we have renovated a barn next to our house into studio space. Although not designed to be a show space as much as a working studio.

We are all telemark skiers (I've worked as a telemark instructor and director of New England Telemark) as well as sailors and horseback riders. I also shoot competitive sporting clays and am a PSCA certified instructor with LL.Bean.

I have a grand piano and a music room where I spend almost every morning playing. I'm not great pianist but I've played most of my life and it's a passion.

I am an avid Engfist.

Sporting clays is kind of like golf with a shotgun... only a lot more fun.

MUSIC

I am an amateur pianist and song writer. Below are a few samples of my instrumentals and songs as well as my classical playing.

"Music For Tunnels" (An original composition with an accompanying video on youtube)

"On the Surface of Things" (An original composition featuring paintings by friend and painter, John Harris.)

"Faded Scarlet Bow" (I was thinking about Christmas when you are old and the kids are long gone.)

"The Last Man" (I wanted this to have a "broadway musical" feel. It's about a guy falling into delusions after his girl has left him)

"Judging Distances" (I wrote this for my father)

"A little Manic" (An instrumental I wrote for my son Skyler.)

"Famous blue Raincoat" (A favorite Leonard Cohen tune)

"Out Of the Blue" (I wrote this after the twin tower disaster. It's on You tube with a slide show.

Classical piano

Eric Satie, Gnossiene No.7 (Way Mysterious!)

Eric Satie, Gnossiene No.1

Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 #1. (One of my favorites)

Philip Glass "Escape" (A short interesting "minimalist" piece.)

Chopin Nocturne Op. 72.1 (A beast to play but I love it)

Comptine D'un Autre Ete L'Apres Midi by Yann Ti.ersen (Another favorite)

Chopin waltz Op. 69 #1

Schumann "Dedication" (My friend Janet Lynch sings on this)

Schumann "Foreign Lands"

Chopin Nocturne C# Min.( posth.) (A beautiful little nocturne.)

"Chopin" Opus 9 by Schumann (This is a piece Schumann wrote in homage to Chopin.)

Bach Aria from Goldberg Variations (The Goldberg Variations are some of my favorite Bach works. I love the aria and only wish I could play it like Gould did...))
